Foo Fighters Radio Takeover

In 1994, Dave Grohl set out to do the seemingly impossible: To step out from behind the drums and form a new band from the ashes of Nirvana. Grunge music had become a powerhouse genre in Rock, and Nirvana was at the top of the pyramid. How do you top that!?! Dave Grohl did it with two words, Foo Fighters. Since then they have released 6 albums, had multiple #1 hits, won Grammy Awards, sold out countless shows, and have cemented themselves as one of the biggest names in Rock music.

On April 12, the Foo Fighters released their 7th album, Wasting Light. Paying homage to the past, the Foo Fighters have teamed up with producer Butch Vig, who famously produced the album that sent shivers down the spines of every 80’s rock band, Nirvana’s Nevermind. Recording exclusively in analog, Dave Grohl and company have proven once again, what’s old is new again. The Foo Fighters have now been a band longer, and have released more music than Nirvana. The Foo Fighters are now one of the biggest bands in the world, outside of the shadow of the band that changed everything, an achievement almost impossible to suggest in 1994.
